Book Review: Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie

by Krista

❥ Thank you for the free book gifts, BiblioLifestyle, William Morrow Books, and Agatha Christie Ltd.

I am thrilled to be part of this tour. I have happily added this book to my growing Agatha Christie collection. I love the Agatha Christie themed pens by Chronicle Books, one of my favorite indie publishers.

Synopsis

Beloved detective Hercule Poirot embarks on a journey to Egypt in one of Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries.

The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything . . . until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Thoughts

I am a late bloomer in the world of Agatha Christie fans, but I am here! This is my second Christie book this year, and I absolutely loved it. I can see why this story is known as one of the beloved author’s most legendary works. Although it is book 18 in the Hercule Poirot series, each book in the series can be read as a standalone. And this book was a standout!

If I am going to read a mystery story, it has to be cozy, and this was it! However, don’t let my categorization mislead you because this story has vibrant characters, exotic settings, intricate plots, and surprising twists. Death on the Nile is a must-read for mystery or classics fans.
