♡ Thank you for the free book, author Monica Murphy and Entangled Publishing.

Synopsis

Knox is the king of the college campus. He is the star offensive tight end on the football team. And he is the complete opposite of Joanna.

Fresh after a breakup, Joanna does not trust Knox, the ultimate player. When she becomes his English tutor, Joanna is convinced that their relationship should be kept at the business level. Joanna knows that she does not need an athlete in her life, especially after the things her mother has gone through with Joanna’s ex-athlete father.

Yet Knox is impossible to resist. Next thing Joanna knows, things are getting hot and heavy in the library with Knox. Then they realize that they cannot stop thinking about each other. Could a relationship work between these two opposites?

Thoughts

Touchdown! I loved this story. I was a football cheerleader back in the day, and football is still my favorite sport to watch. We have so much hockey romance flooding the romance genre right now that I find it refreshing to read about a different sport when it pops up.

But beyond that, I just adored Joanna and Knox’s story. It ticked so many good boxes for me. I enjoyed their personalities and “opposites attract” chemistry. I also liked the slow burn, slightly forbidden, and spicy romance aspects. I thought Murphy incorporated dyslexia into this story beautifully, and I appreciated that inclusion. What a fun story and a beautiful HEA. Now I need to scoop up the rest of The Players series.
