I’ve seen variations of this roundup floating around The Web, and I thought it would be a fun one to join in on. If you have a spell which uses three books to summon someone, these are the books you’ll need for me!
Three Books to Summon Me
- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue: This is a new addition to my favorites list. It’s an interesting twist on the age-old tale of making a deal with The Devil. I recently reviewed it, if you’d like to learn more.
- The Hobbit: This is my all-time favorite book, and has been since I read it in ninth grade. I love all of The Lord of the Rings books, too! They are the epitome of fantasy story perfection in my book. This particular copy of The Hobbit was made by Folio Society.
- Anne of Green Gables: I adored the movies made in the 1980s when I was a teenager. I later found the book series, which I also fell in love with. The edition pictured is from Easton Press, though I also possess my Great-Grandma Emma’s 1908 copy of Anne of Green Gables.
Question
Which three books would summon you?
Side Note
I think I’ve finally figured out the best setup for shooting indoor book photos. My camera had been stolen a few years ago by some dreadful movers when we moved cross-country. That camera was sentimental as it had been my first semi-professional camera, and had seen me through living in Germany and Colorado, as well as shooting fashion trade shows in Las Vegas when I worked in marketing. It took me awhile to get over the heartbreak, even though it was just an inanimate object. That loss came at a time of many losses, so it took some time for me to want to pick a camera back up again. So, thank you for suffering through my poorly focused photos. Hopefully we’re mostly beyond that. Though, I’m not a professional, so I can’t make any promises. I do vow to try my very best, even when it means striking a yoga pose to get the shot!
